Ethical and responsible business practices are anchored in our codes of conduct for governance and social awareness. Rijk Zwaan prevents corruption and fraud through strict procedures, mandatory ethics training, and anti-fraud programmes. We apply fair procurement processes based on integrity and sustainability. In addition, we ensure good working conditions at partner companies through Fair Labour principles and audits, with special attention to high-risk countries. Our principles for fair work are based on United Nations guidelines.

IESE Business School

At Rijk Zwaan, we know that company culture is shaped by the people on the work floor. To safeguard continuity and ensure that our culture is embraced by managers, employees from various roles can participate in the Business Ethics & Company Culture training at IESE Business School.

Since 1999, the Rijk Zwaan Committee for Development Cooperation (COS) has been involved in projects aimed at stimulating vegetable consumption within families and helping farmers and growers improve their income position.

Ensuring fair labour
by doing audits

Besides producing our own seeds, we also work together with third-party seed producers. Each year, we carry out Fair Labour audits of our external partners to ensure that they work according to our standards.

Through the supply of high-quality seeds, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance, we support growers in low- and middle-income countries. Our goal is to help them develop both personally and professionally, increase their income, and promote vegetable consumption.
