Coronavirus –

Rijk Zwaan is taking appropriate measures and continuing to supply seeds

Rijk Zwaan global management

19 March 2020 - The world is facing a serious health crisis as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Health organisations and governments across the globe are implementing various measures to limit the spread of the virus. Rijk Zwaan recognises the importance of this and is taking appropriate steps.

Safety of employees and business partners

Needless to say, the safety of our employees, our partners and our business contacts is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the advice of the health organisations and governments, and implementing measures within our company accordingly.

Vegetables and vegetable seeds essential to food security

Vegetable seeds are an essential part of the food chain and form the foundation of a healthy and varied diet. Without vegetable seeds, growers cannot produce vegetables for people to eat. As a vegetable breeding company, we are now more than ever aware of the role that we play – both as a sector and as a company – in the world’s food supply.

The International Seed Federation published a statement clearly emphasising the importance of the unrestricted international movement of seed to ensure food security, and called on governments to facilitate this as much as possible.

Our focus is on orders

Every day, our employees are doing their utmost to meet our customers’ demands and to supply them with vegetable seeds as planned. We are continuously working together to find solutions for any bottlenecks that our partners and business contacts may be experiencing at this unprecedented time. You can depend on us.

Please take care of one another. We will tackle this together!
