Rijk Zwaan promoted to Hillenraad 500+

This year, for the very first time, Rijk Zwaan has made it onto the Hillenraad 500+, the annual list of companies with revenues of more than 500 million euros or with more than 1,000 employees in the Netherlands. The organisation had previously announced that the company would be promoted into this 'premier league', and it has now been revealed that Rijk Zwaan is ranked number 2.

Growth is not an end in itself

Rijk Zwaan has held the top spot in five of the past 12 editions of the Hillenraad 100, the overview of the hundred most significant companies in Dutch greenhouse horticulture, including most recently in 2014. This year Enza Zaden is ranked number one on that list. “We warmly congratulate Enza Zaden on achieving first place,” says Managing Director Marco van Leeuwen. “The fact that we've now been included in the Hillenraad 500+ is an indication of our company's strong and rapid growth. To us, growth is not an end in itself but rather a means to fulfil our long-term ambitions, namely – in collaboration with our partners – to actively contribute to the global food supply and increasing vegetable consumption. We continue to operate as a family-run company, with a firm focus on people and a personal approach.”
