Rijk Zwaan has gained an important subsidiary. Following its start on 1 January, the official opening of Rijk Zwaan Egypt took place last week.
Rijk Zwaan Egypt is located in Cairo, with 18 employees and a modern breeding station. This demo field will be playing a major role for not only the local market but also for the neighbouring countries. This gives it an important regional function, especially for crops like melon, mini cucumber, pepper, tomato and aubergine.
The official opening of Rijk Zwaan Egypt took place on 12 January. The opening was attended by a part of the Rijk Zwaan Management, a group of customers and business relations and a number of special guests, including representatives from the Dutch Embassy in Egypt and a contingent of the Egyptian Ministry for Agriculture. On the day following the opening of the sales offices, the new demo field was opened in a separate ceremony, attended by a large group of interested growers.
