The sales office and breeding station of Rijk Zwaan in Mexico, already operational since January last year, were opened officially last week. In Culiacán, in the province of Sinaloa, a number of speeches were made and a guided tour took place.
Rijk Zwaan Mexico originated from distributor Euro Semillas, which had been collaborating with Rijk Zwaan ever since 1996. It is only logical, therefore, that former proprietors Enrique Rodarte and Juan Carlos Rosas now form the management of the new subsidiary. They have built up a strong, motivated team that fits in well with everything Rijk Zwaan stands for. Under their leadership the breeding company has every faith in the future of Rijk Zwaan in Mexico.
In Culiacán, Rijk Zwaan Mexico focuses predominantly on peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers but it also sees plenty of opportunities for various outdoor crops in Central Mexico.
